Connection
noun
- a relationship in which a person or thing is linked or associated with something else.
The most powerful portraits are ones bursting with connection - between the subject and the viewer, the subject and a moment or two subjects within the images. I don't want portrait photos to just be about pretty pictures. I want them to make people feel something.
It can be an uncomfortable process at first - particular if you are not used to being in front of the camera. But I work hard to prepare you for the experience - and to make plenty of jokes along the way.
When I look at these stunning images from a recent maternity session, I just feel the love of this couple who are about to enter a new stage of their lives - as parents. I find it positively joyful.
